Household debt of 1,886 trillion again ‘highest ever’

Increase in household credit: In the fourth quarter of last year, household credit increased by 8 trillion won, the largest ever. It is analyzed that the number of people wanting to buy a house has increased due to the government's real estate stimulus policy.

Increase in household loans: Household loans showed an increase from the second quarter due to the government's loan easing policy and increased for three consecutive quarters until the fourth quarter. The main reason is the rapid increase in housing mortgage loans.

Household Debt Outlook: It is highly likely that the increase in household debt will continue in the first quarter of this year. Household loans are expected to increase further as housing sentiment recovers due to the interest rate cut caused by the government's pressure on the banking sector.
